My Life in the Penh
Living. Learning. Loving. Laughing. In Cambodia.

For the 2010-2011 school year, I lived and worked in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. A beautiful and culturally rich country to live in. Living in a developing country has its ups and downs but I was happy to be there. I spent a year teaching English through immersion to a loud and energetic group of 22 preschoolers.
I’m also blessed to have worked with 25 phenomenal orphans part-time. All are under the age of 4, with the exception of a few handicapped older children. They’ve completely stolen my heart and I would sometimes cry just thinking about leaving when I returned.
Now I’m back & in school in south Florida :)
Fun Facts:

The language spoken in Cambodia is Khmer. To the left is Khmer for Cambodia ('Khmer land').

My main form of transportation was my bike, but for longer distances or when the weather was terrible, I took a Tuk Tuk. |
